Mysuru: Close on the heels of huge cash seizure by the IT department exceeding Rs. 4 crore in fresh currency, BJP activists gathered near FTS circle and demanded the resignation of district in-charge minister and chief minister for their “association” with the tainted government officials from whose residences money was recovered.

It may be recalled that IT department officials had raided the residences of S C Jayachandra, Chief Planning Officer of State Highway Development Project, PWD on December 1 and T N Chikkarayappa, Managing Director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd., earlier. It is gathered that the former is related to State PWD Minister H C Mahadevappa who is also the Mysuru district in-charge minister and the latter is a close aid of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

When ordinary people are standing in queue for hours for their own money, BJP activists wanted to know, how S C Jaychandra managed to amass Rs 4.7 crore in fresh currency in a very short period.

The protestors demanded that both chief minister and the district in-charge minister owned moral responsibility and resigned from their posts.
