During the hour-long discussion, Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of timely completion of these projects to enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region. The Chennai-Mysuru Bullet Train project, spanning 435 kilometers, is set to link Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mysuru with nine stations across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is part of the six new high-speed rail corridors planned by the Government of India, with tendering activities initiated in December 2020 to prepare detailed project reports (DPR) and commence construction.

Additionally, Kumaraswamy highlighted the Bengaluru-Sathyamangalam-Chamarajanagar railway line, initially sanctioned during former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s tenure. This ambitious project aims to bolster regional connectivity and facilitate economic development along its route.

The meeting underscored Kumaraswamy’s commitment to advancing Karnataka’s railway infrastructure, aligning with national development goals articulated by Prime Minister Modi.
