Morning shocker: Seven more test positive in Kodagu

Madikeri: Kodagu residents got a rude shock on Tuesday morning with district reporting 7 more COVID 19 positive cases.

With this, the total no of positive cases in district touched 54. “Among them, 3 are discharged. 51 are active cases. In total 23 containment zones created in the district,” informed DC Annies Kanmani Joy.

The 7 new positive cases from Kodagu includes five persons who are the primary contact of the positive patient from Nellihudikeri, Somwarpet Taluk. The sixth patient is secondary contact of the positive patient from Shirangala, Shanivarsanthe, Somwarpet Taluk. The 7th patient is a 65-year-old native of Thithimathi village, Virajpet Taluk had ILI symptoms.

DC also informed that no new containment zones to be opened in the first 6 cases as their houses are already inside the containment zone. One containment zone opened at Thithimathi village, Virajpet Taluk.
