Sangama Sambhrama – 2016

Madikeri: “Sangama Sambhrama – 2016”, a two-day cultural fest got off to a colorful start at Field Marshal Cariappa College grounds on December 7. The programme, co-hosted by State Department of Kannada and Culture in association with different state language and cultural academies was inaugurated by District In-charge Minister M R Seetharam.

Appreciating the efforts, Minister Seetharam called for sustained efforts to transfer the rich culture and tradition to the present generation.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint secretary for Kannada and Culture Mallikarjuna Swamy said the unity and integrity of the land could be safeguarded only by preserving the rich culture and tradition.

Kodava Sahithya Academy President termed the colorful event “apolitical”.

Karnataka Sahitya Academy president, Prof. Malathi Pattanna Shetty wished the celebrations continued in the years to come.

Kanakadasa Study Centre Chief K T Chikkanna stressed on the need to drive away selfish intentions to achieve common goals for good.

Karnataka Yakshagana Academy President Belagallu Veeranna said, the celebrations of this kind unite mankind.

Konkani Sahitya Academy President Roy Castelino echoed the sentiments expressed by few speakers and called upon all academies to strive with same zeal to preserve the rich culture and tradition.

Beary Sahitya Academy President, B A Mohammed Hanif felt different languages should spread brotherhood.

Many other academy presidents and leading dignitaries from diverse fields were present on the occasion.
