Madikeri: The Social Democratic Party of India held a public meeting here on Sunday as part of national campaign ‘Unite Against the Politics of Terror’ at Ayyangeri. The country-wide campaign aims at creating awareness among the masses about the prevailing feeling of fear and insecurity among the minority communities, backward classes and weaker sections, particularly Muslims and Dalits.
Presiding over the meeting SDPI district president Amin Mohsin said, “The elements which are against the constitution while ruling the country act against it. Today there is no value for life of a human being, instead a cow is given more importance. Politically motivated attacks by defying constitution on citizens are similar to terror activities.”
Shafi Bellare another leader said, “Innocents are being tortured across the country. Attack on Qureshi in Mangaluru, attack on Akla and Una Dalit attack are the evidences for it. We need to unite against politics of terror.”
Several party leaders were present.
