Mandya: A couple involved in illicit relationship was brutally murdered by an armed gang in Malavalli of Mandya district in the wee hours of Sunday, December 18.
Sharavathy, wife of Siddegowda, resident of Nelamakanahalli and her paramour Satish are the deceased. Incidentally, husband Siddegowda is serving a jail sentence since 2009.
In the wee hours on December 18, masked men carrying arms barged inside the house and first stabbed Satish to death when he tried to escape. Later, they slit the throat of Sharavathy before escaping in their car.
The couple’s 11-year-old son, the lonely witness to the incident was pushed aside by the armed gang members before they escaped. The deceased couple’s 13-year-old daughter had gone to her relative’s house on Saturday, December 17.
Siddegowda was married to Sharavathy fifteen years ago and the former landed in jail in connection with a case in 2009. The killed couple was in relationship since then. Satish, a labourer employed in Siddegowda’s agricultural land gradually got closer to Sharavathy.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital. Police were seen collecting vital clues at the crime scene with help from finger print experts.
