Mandya: It looks like nothing is going according to plan for the JDS in the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. The party is planning to field Nikhil Kumar, son of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy from this constituency. However, the party’s state leadership decided against the filing of Nikhil’s nomination papers today, as was announced on Wednesday night.
It all started on Wednesday, when, as per the suggestions of the astrologers, actor-turned-politician and JDS-Congress alliance candidate from Mandya Lothe k Sabha constituency, Nikhil Kumar planned to submit his nomination papers today at 11 AM.
The JDS leaders had informed the media that Nikhil would submit one set of nomination papers today, while another set of papers would be submitted on March 25. As per the plan, CM HDK was supposed to reach Mandya by 11 AM for this purpose. According to sources in the JDS, an astrologer had advised that today, being a full moon with the Hubba star, was very auspicious.
However, at the last minute, the JDS decided not to go ahead with Nikhil’s filing of nomination papers today. There is no clarity why such a decision taken abruptly.
