Mandya: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy said the Congress, which had ruled for five years in the past but lost its majority, will not come to power on its own even after 50 more years.

Addressing a meeting of JD (S) workers near Anant Ram Circle, he said, “A member of the Legislative Council, who has been elected from our party, has given a statement to give a majority to the Congress. They don’t seem to know, the Congress, which was in power for five years in the past and won a majority of 78 seats, will be reduced to 38 this time,” he said.

Those who formed the Government with us and topple the Government with a conspiracy are now trying to win the votes of the Muslim community, he said and added that they will not succeed for any reason.

“A majority JD (S) Government should be formed for the implementation of Pancharatna projects. So the JD (S) should win and thus give me strength. Take a decision to defeat a Congress candidate who does not respect citizen and send him home. This should be their last election,” he said.

He appealed to the people to vote for the JD (S) thinking that their candidate is Kumaranna.
