Mandya:The body of a young woman from Nanjangud taluk was found in a lake near Budanur in the district.
The body of Chandini (22), a resident of Kurahatti village in Nanjangud taluk, was found in the lake. The woman, identified as a native of Nanjangud, may have committed suicide by jumping into a lake on the Bangalore-Mysuru National Highway at Budanur village in the district.
It is suspected that the girl may have left her bag and slippers on the bank of the lake and committed suicide by jumping into the lake, the villagers who noticed the bag on the bank of the lake in the evening informed the police.
The police, who visited the spot, lifted the body from the lake and shifted it to Mandya MIMS mortuary.
