Mandya: Rebellion erupted in Mandya Assembly Constituency after ticket distribution of Congress is announced in the second list. But the aspirants have expressed their dissatisfaction against the decision of the High Command who have distributed the tickets. Apart from this, dissidents are holding separate meetings along with protest.

As the second list was released, dissent erupted in Mandya Assembly constituency where 16 candidates were aspirants. The party announced ticket to P. Ravikumar, who was defeated last time. This has led to the displeasure of the remaining ticket aspirants. On Thursday, supporters of Keelara Radhakrishna laid siege to the District Congress office and protested. The supporters who held a meeting at Keelara Radhakrishna’s residence again on Friday and expressed their outrage against the partys decision. At this time, Congress Candidate Ganiga Ravikumar, who came to meet Keeara Radhakrishna to quell the dissent, faced a heated protest. The supporters surrounding Ravikumar stopped the car and expressed outrage and demanded that the High Command should change the candidate immediately. Keelara Radhakrishna, who was deprived of the Congress ticket, said, “I will bring to the attention of the seniors about the decisions taken here in the interest of the elected representatives of the local bodies and the Municipal Council members who believe in me. After that, he said, he will take a decision about the next political move. I did not join the Congress with any conditions. For the last 7 years I have been involved in social service beyond my strength in the field. Originally from Congress, we had to join JDS due to the changed political situation after S. M. Krishna joined BJP. Later he said that he has been working as an active worker of Congress since 2020.

While the protest by supporters of Keelara Radhakrishna was on the one hand, on the other hand, the original Congress held a separate meeting at the residence of M. S. Atmananda. Many ticket aspirants and original Congress Members participated in the meeting and condemned P. Ravikumar being chosen. Last time too, the ticket was given to Ravikumar. He ran away from the constituency without conducting elections properly. This is a disgrace to the party. Even now the ticket has been given to Ravikumar. It has been decided to hold another meeting on April 10. By then, the candidate should be changed and ticket given to the original Congressman. Otherwise, they warned that party would have to face Opposition from the original Congressmen.
