Mandya: After coming under criticism for remaining absent at the last rites of her political mentor MH Ambareesh, Congress leader and former MP Ramya (Divya Spandana) has made a silent exit from Mandya, raising several questions.
As per sources, Ramya vacated her rented apartment at Vidyanagara on Sunday late night. Two lorries ferried all her belongings out. She had taken this house on rent when she contested the parliamentary polls for the first time from Mandya. She had said that she wanted to remain close to her people and hence she would live in Mandya. Later on, when she lost the polls, she remained away from Mandya. When people started questioning her, she had stated that she was pursuing her education abroad and hence she cannot return to Mandya as often as she thought she could.
It is said that she had lived in the rented house only a couple of times. However, when her dreams of contesting from Mandya crashed like a castle of cards and with intense political equations emerging from Mandya, Ramya suddenly started showing up in national political scenes. She was soon handling Congress’ social media and digital communications and it was evident that she would not return to Mandya. In the recently held elections too, the Congress left Mandya to its coalition partner JD(S), thereby dashing every bit of her hopes. Death of Ambareesh and her absence during the last rites came as a final blow. The fans of Ambareesh were irked and returning to Mandya has become a risky venture for Ramya. Keeping all this in mind, she has now vacated the house without making much noise, clearly hinting that she is out Mandya politics, say political observers.
