Mysuru: A mother has pleaded with the police top brass to deliver justice to her three months after her son’s death citing Facebook posts that testify to her son’s love affair with a post graduate engineering student. In her plea she has alleged that her son did not commit suicide as declared, instead was murdered by his lover’s relatives.

Shashidhar, son of Mangalamma, a resident of Bannur village in T.Narsipur taluk had died on September 8 soon after he left home on receiving a telephone call. His body was found hanging near a private engineering college and his friends had cremated his body without lodging a complaint and leaving no room for conducting post mortem.

In her complaint, Mangalamma has stated that her son was in a relationship with an M Tech student named Akshatha of the same village for four years. She has requested Ravi D Chennanavar, Superintendent of Police and Dr. H T Shekhar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) to investigate the real cause of death and provide her justice.

Shashidhar, a driver by profession was in love with Akshatha and had posted on Facebook, photographs of the couple in relationship, taken at different locations. Akshatha’s family members resented their relationship and eventually stopped sending Akshatha to college.

In the meantime, Shashidhar received a telephone call and left home only to be found dead on September 8. His sister Spandana alleged that all photographs, call logs and SMS message details have been deleted from his mobile and suspects it was a well-planned murder.

Nazarbad police have registered a complaint and are investigating further.
