Mysuru: In a rather laudable move, the Mysuru City Corporation is planning to have messages of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu in prominent parks across the city.
Speaking about the same, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, after inaugurating 115th birth anniversary of Kuvempu, which is also celerbated as Vishwa Manava Dina, said that Kolkata has messages of Rabindranath Tagore in various parks and the same model will be replicated in Mysuru.
“Kuvempu’s contributions to the state and Mysuru are immense. If people start adopting his principles then that would be the most meaningful way to celebrate his birth anniversary,” she said adding that a meeting will be held with regard to having Kuvempu’s messages in parks.
MLA Nagendra who also spoke on the occasion said and said that though Kuvempu was born in Kuppalli he spent, he spent most of his life in Mysuru. Deputy Commissioner Abhiram Sankar, Corporation Commissioner KH Jagadeesh, YD Rajanna, President, Kannada Sahithya Parishat were also present.
