Mysuru City police introduces ‘My Cop’ volunteer service to fight Covid

Mysuru: Mysuru City Police has introduced Mysuru Covid Policing (MyCop) volunteer service to spread awareness on Covid norms among the general public.

Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday December 28, Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta explained about the new initiative planned exclusively to tackle the virus. Interested volunteers are invited to join hands with police to create awareness among the public about “Covid Appropriate Behaviour“, he said.

He said, “Under ‘My Cop’ initiative, initially 200 volunteers will be enrolled in every police station limits. The numbers will be increased in the coming days. Those in the age group of 18 years to 50 years can enrol. ID cards with details including address will be issued to selected volunteers. The volunteers will be supervised with Quick
Response Code (QR) based on live-tracking facility from respective police stations. It will continue till the situation demands,” Chandragupta added.

Those who wish to join hands as volunteers can collect application from respective police stations.
