Mysuru: The Karnataka State Assistant Professors Eligibility Test (K-SET) conducted by the University of Mysore (UOM) has been appreciated by the NAAC.
However, the University’s Education Board Meeting expressed displeasure over why the University of Mysore (UoM) was silent despite allegations of irregularities in the K-SET examination.
At the third meeting of the University of Mysore Academic Council held at Vigyan Bhavan in Manasagangothri on Friday December 30, the members raised the issue of alleged irregularities in the K-SET examination and the transfer of the power to the KEA to conduct the exam.
The University of Mysore has its own history, background and dignity. The University has been conducting the K-SET examination for many years. However, the recent Government’s sudden order to the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) to conduct the K-SET examination after some people alleged irregularities in the examination is a blot on the reputation of the University of Mysore. During a recent visit to the University by NAAC, it reviewed and appreciated the functioning of the K-SET Department. However, why didn’t the University clarify when the allegations came in, it was asked.
