South Western Railway’s Mysuru Division has initiated major infrastructure upgrades at Mysuru Railway Station to improve safety and passenger comfort. The staircases of the foot overbridge connecting platforms 2 and 3 are being renovated and will remain closed for about 60 days starting Saturday.

Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, Divisional Commercial Manager and PRO, explained that the old staircases, built decades ago, have deteriorated over time and now need reinforcement and modern features to comply with current safety standards.

To ensure hassle-free access during the work, temporary diversions have been arranged. Passengers can use the lifts and subway to reach platforms and services. Clear signage, frequent announcements, and support from station staff will be available to help commuters navigate alternative routes and reduce inconvenience.

The renovation is part of a broader effort to modernise facilities and offer a safer, more convenient travel experience for all passengers.
