Mandya: Police arrested five persons on the charges of attempting to convert Hindus to Christianity.
According to the complaint filed by villagers of Annur near K M Doddi in Mandya Taluk, the accused distributed pamphlets of the Christian religion in the houses of the poor and labourers in the village. The complaint also alleged that missionaries are behind in this incident by claiming their god will solve all the problems.
The police rushed to the spot and arrested five persons. The arrested have been identified as Kumar Naik, Samant, Vijay Gowda, Hemant Kumar Sandeep. During the investigation, the arrested confessed that they are involved in converting poor Hindus to Christianity.
Police registered a case and further investigation is on.
