Mandya: For the first time in 48 years, a record 530 TMC of water has been released to Tamil Nadu from the Krishnaraja Sagar Reservoir, which is the lifeline of the District.
On July 20, the maximum level of KRS Reservoir was 124.80 feet. Since then, it has maintained its highest level till August 3. On August 4, the inflow into the reservoir was increased to 68,100 cusecs as the inflow into the reservoir was 67,712 cusecs.
The inflow as on August 1 was 23,081 cusecs. At present, 74,726 cusecs of water is flowing. With this, the outflow has been increased to 78,316 cusecs. On August 6, it had risen to 74,068 cusecs. From there, it came down to 9,144 cusecs on August 18. On August 19th, the inflow was 21,562 cusecs. On September 3, it had risen to 26,247 cusecs. On October 18, the reservoir was full for the second time in a year. The maximum water level in the reservoir had reached 124.80 feet.
