Mysuru: City Youth Congress workers on Sunday August 21 staged a protest in front of the house of Mysuru – Kodagu Lok Sabha Constituency Member Pratap Sinha and offered eggs. The workers follows as a retaliation to throwing of eggs on Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s car by alleged worker of BJP on his visit to Kodagu on Thursday August 18.
The issue evoked sharp resentment among Congress circles as they alleged goondaism by BJP. The Congress workers organised protests in many parts of the State against the incident. However BJP leaders denied the hand of BJP worker in the incident and alleged Congress worker himself threw eggs against Siddaramaiah for his anti-Hindu remarks. The Congress Leaders as part of their agitation against the incident staged a protest against BJP leaders.
On Sunday, Pawan, President of Devaraja Block Youth Congress Committee and Chandru, Chamaraj Constituency Youth Congress President, Mysore City Unit Vice President Abrar and leaders , Nishant, Yashwant, Sanjay, Vinod, Madan offered to give a tray containing eggs to MP Pratap Simha at his house in Vijayanagar 3rd stage.
Congress leaders said during Siddaramaiah’s Government, eggs were distributed to children as a form of nutrition. However, the BJP workers in Kodagu have lost the meaning of the egg. We have come to MP’s house to make it known, not to protest. Later, the police intervened and dispersed the entire crowd.
