Mysuru: District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekhar has said that all necessary arrangements have been made for the world-famous ‘Jamboo Savari,’ the main attraction during the Mysuru Dasara.

Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday October 4, he said that the gala event will showcase 40 tableaux and a variety of cultural teams.

“Around 4000 police officers have been deployed as part of the security arrangements. Precautionary measures are also taken. There is also a facility for vehicles to park. There are public seating areas set up along the ‘Jamboo Savari’ route. We expect between 15 and 20 lakh people to attend the grand event,” he said.

The Minister further said, “There was no pass for any of the programmes, including Yuva Sambhrama, Raitha Dasara, or Yuva Dasara. The space we had been fully utilised for the Jamboo Savari event. Dasara is not just about pass distribution.”

He said that the Karnataka High Court judges, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, and other dignitaries had been invited to the programme.
