Mysuru: Police Commissioner raids rowdy-sheeters’ houses

Mysuru: In the wake of increased rowdy activities the City Police Commissioner Ramesh and team raided 37 houses of rowdy sheeters and seized weapons in the wee hours of Tuesday December 13.

During the raid, three machetes were found in the house of rowdy sheeter Salim and a knife was found in the house of another. During the investigation, it has come to light that some rowdy-sheeters have formed a gang. The attack was based on information that some rowdy-sheeters were involved in cases of murder and attempted murder. There are more than 900 rowdy-sheeters in Mysuru City including old people, former rowdies, and also those who have left rowdyism. Some others have died.

Currently, only 37 rowdy sheeters are active. They were brought to Hebbal Police Station and interrogated. City Police Commissioner Ramesh said that they have been warned not to participate in any illegal activities.
