Mysuru: A tiger cub was found dead in the Bandipura Tiger Reserve’s (BTR) Hediyala sub-division.
According to sources, the carcass was found by Tiger Reserve staff patrolling the jungle at Bairigadhe Pinching, Chowdalli Beat in the N. Beguru forest range.
Mysuru Chief Conservator of Forest Malathi Priya, BTR Director P. Ramesh Kumar, National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) representative Prasanna, and a wildlife vet visited the scene and conducted a postmortem.
The cub was suspected to have been assaulted and killed by doles or other wild animals. The body samples have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Mysuru and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in Hyderabad for examination, informed officials.
