Mysuru: A wild elephant went on a rampage damaging agricultural fields and a Public Distribution Shop at Manuganahalli in Saragur Taluk on Tuesday October 18.

The elephant damaged the shutters of the Anna Bhagya shop, besides ransacking the sacks of rice, ragi and sacks of other grains stocked in the shop. The elephant suspected to be a tusker, strayed out of the forest, only to send shivers down the spine of the villagers who were preparing to go to their farms in the morning.

Recently in a similar incident, a wild elephant barged into a village and damaged a house, forcing the villagers to pelt stones at the pachyderm in their defence.
