Mysuru: Wodeyars, the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru played a perfect host to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday June 21.
The Prime Minister had a sumptuous breakfast at the residential wing of the erstwhile royal family at the Palace. Pramoda Devi Wodeyar, her son Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar, his wife Trishika Kumari and their son Adyaveer had breakfast with the Prime Minister, all in silver articles.
The menu included Upma, Avalakki, Idli, Sambar, Chutney and Mysuru Pak, mixed fruits among several other delicacies of South Indian style.The cooks from Fernhill Palace Hotel at Ooty and Regency Villa, the hotels owned by Wodeyars had been brought in to specially prepare the breakfast for the visiting dignitaries.
Modi who was in awe of the palace and its interiors, also shared a lighter moment with Adyaveer by garlanding him with the garland offered to him in his welcome. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Lakshminarayan, Personal Secretary to Wodeyars was also present.
