Mysuru: Police has registered FIR against 26 Congress leaders on charges of violating Covid norms during a rally taken out from Gandhi Square in the City as part of Mekedatu Padayatra.
The rally was taken out on Tuesday January 11 and the FIR was filed on Thursday January 13 under charges framed under IPC 269 and The Disaster Management Act, 2005.
According to the FIR, Hunsur MLA H. P. Manjunath, Former MLAs Vasu and Kalale Keshavamurthy, Former MLC Dharmasena, Mysuru District Congress Rural Committee President Dr. B. J. Vijaykumar, Srinath Babu and 20 others.
They are charged with violating Covid norms issued by the government, by not wearing mask and maintaining social distance, thus risking the lives of general public.
