Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) awarded an honorary doctorate (posthumous) to Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar during the 102nd Annual Convocation ceremony on Tuesday March 22.
State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot conferred the honorary doctorate to Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, wife of Puneeth Rajkumar.
During the event, Ashwini announced two gold medals in the name of Parvathammma Rajkumar for Business Management and Puneet Rajkumar gold medal for Fine Arts. It will be given out starting next year.
The Mysuru university announced an honorary doctorate to Puneeth Rajkumar on March 13 which was also the late actor’s birthday.
The other two achievers who were conferred the award were Padma Vibhushan Dr. Vasudev K. Aatre, Former Director General, Defence Research and Development Organisation and M. Malavalli Mahadevaswamy, eminent folklore Artiste and Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee.
