Rain damage in Mysuru: 7 acres of plantain crop destroyed

Mysuru: The rain has damaged crop in many parts of the District on the night of Friday April 15.

Around seven acres of plantain crop was completely destroyed by rain in Hyrige village. It is said that the crop belongs to Marigowda and Madegowda brothers.

A bull owned by farmer Javaraiah in Hyrige Village in HD Kote Taluk died on spot when a branch of tree fell on it. Another bull and Javaraiah escaped unhurt, miraculously. It is said that Javaraiah was riding bullock cart while heavy rains lashed the Village.

The heavy rains has caused destruction of the crop across District. The villagers have urged the Government to provide compensation.
