Mysuru: Two persons were killed and six injured in two separate mishaps that occurred during last 24 hours.
In the first mishap, a woman was killed on the spot while five others including two children were injured after a car hit a tree near Kaligowdanahalli Gate in Gundlupete on Wednesday April 6. The victims have been identified as Hyderabad based tourists who were travelling from Bengaluru to Ooty in a Toyota Innova. While Jayalakshmi (50) died on the spot, her husband Venkaiah (54), Rajesh, Padmavathi and two children suffered injuries and are admitted at Chamarajanagara District Hospital. Gundlupet Police rushed to the spot and cleared the traffic.The villagers alleged that reckless driving led to the accident.
In the second mishap, a borewell lorry overturned killing one on the spot and injuring two others near Bogadi Outer-Ring Road junction in the outskirts of the City on Wednesday. The lorry bearing Bengaluru registration number belongs to Sri Sai Services. KR Traffic Police visited the spot and rushed the injured persons to KR Hospital.
