Nagaratnamma Ranna has been elected unopposed as the new president of the Kirugasur Gram Panchayat, following the resignation of the former president, C. Ningaraju.

The election, conducted to fill the vacant post, witnessed no other candidates filing nominations, resulting in Nagaratnamma’s uncontested victory. The announcement was made by Manjunath, the election officer from the Irrigation Department.

In a formal gathering marking the occasion, several key panchayat members and local leaders were present to extend their support. Among those in attendance were Vice President Chinnathayamma, members Bhagya, Shivaraju, Nagaraj, Chandramma, Jyothi, Girijamma, Mahesh M, Rajeshwari, Mangalamma, Nagaraju P, Sarojamma, Mahadevaswamy B, R. Girish, Kamini, as well as influential community leaders Mallanna, Mantalingappa, D.L. Mahadevappa, Elumale Manju, Vasanth, and others.

The peaceful and uncontested election was seen as a sign of unity and consensus within the local governance body. Nagaratnamma’s leadership is expected to bring stability and renewed focus on development efforts in the village.

Her election also marks a significant moment for women in grassroots leadership, strengthening the participation of women in rural administration.
