Mysore: Yaduveer, who was adopted by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar will be crowned king on May 28th. The two-day event is expected to be private and will be limited to the royal family members, close relatives and friends.
The royal sword and royal seal of the Wadiyars will be handed over to Yaduveer following the customary rituals. With this, Yaduveer will officially take over the reigns of the former Wadiyar dynasty.
Yaduveer will play a traditional key role in the dasara procession that starts every year from the palace on vijayadashmi and winds through the streets of Mysore. Yaduveer is the grandnephew of Srikantadatta Wodeyar and Pramodadevi and the grandson of the Srikantadatta Wodeyar’s eldest sister Gayathri Devi who was chosen over Kantharaj Urs, who performed the last rites of the late Srikantadatta Narisimharaja Wadiyar.
