Mysuru: Mandi police have arrested a youth on charges of purportedly abducting and a raping minor girl. Sayyad Abrar is the arrested.
According to the police, the accused abducted and raped the girl in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
On October 20, the victim’s father complained at Mandi police station that his daughter who is studying in Faruqika College in Tilak Nagar was abducted. After registering the complaint, the police had launched a manhunt for the accused.
The accused was taken into custody near Columbia Asia hospital on Ringroad in Mysuru recently. The minor girl alleged that the accused had taken her to Mumbai and Bengaluru forcibly and sexually assaulted her.
Based on the complaint by the minor girl, the accused was detained and has been booked under IPC section 376 (1) and POCSO act and has been sent to judicial custody.
