Mysuru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly rebutted the BJP’s accusation that the upcoming convention in Mysuru is a political power play aimed at influencing the Congress high command. Speaking on Friday, Siddaramaiah clarified that the event is solely focused on showcasing the state government’s pro-people and development initiatives.
“This is not an individual’s show of strength. It is a development-centric programme, and the BJP is deliberately spreading false narratives,” he said.
On Krishna Water Dispute
Addressing the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal issue, Siddaramaiah hit out at the central government, accusing it of delaying the final notification on water sharing. He noted that while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have unresolved disputes, Karnataka faces no such hurdle.
“The Centre has already allowed us to raise the Almatti reservoir height to 524.2 meters. Karnataka will not lose anything in this process,” he asserted.
Bengaluru Stampede Inquiry
Responding to ongoing criticism about the RCB celebration stampede, Siddaramaiah assured that the cabinet will review the inquiry report in its upcoming meeting.
“We will take appropriate decisions based on the findings,” he added.
The opposition BJP had previously condemned the state government’s report, which allegedly held police and RCB organisers responsible for the crowd mishap.
