Mysuru: Six policemen including the station sub inspector attached to the Lakshmipuram Police Station were hospitalised with complaints of high fever after they failed to resist the mosquito attack in their station surroundings.

Inspector Raghu, assistant sub-inspectors Prabhudev, Mariswamy, Prasanna Murthy and head constables Basavaraj Urs and Vanajakshi got admitted to different private hospitals in the city after they fell ill simultaneously.

The damaged underground drain behind the station became a breeding ground for mosquitoes and the menace touched dangerous proportions to make life miserable for cops serving at the station. They had taken preventive measures by resorting to burning herbal leaves and by employing mosquito resistant materials to counter the onslaught. Our portal newskannada.com reported about their plight in its web pages earlier.

CMC turning deaf added to existing woes

The station has a common toilet for both male and female staff. The City Municipal Corporation (CMC) failed to respond to the pleas to provide an additional toilet.

City Police Commissioner Subramanyeshwar Rao assured of immediate action to solve the problem after collecting a report from the officials but added the issue was not brought to his notice earlier.
