Mysuru: A suspected terrorist involved in the district court premises blast was taken to the blast site for further investigation by NIA sleuths in Mysuru on Friday, December 2.
A team of NIA officials inspected the blast site after admission by the accused, Dawood Sulaiman during interrogation. The officials took him to various places in the city he visited prior to the blast to gather more leads on his links, if any. During last week, the NIA team had nabbed 3 terror suspects from Madurai and took them into their custody after producing them in the court.
It is gathered, Dawood Sulaiman was employed as a software engineer in Chennai and the investigating officers are extracting more details on his links to blasts at places like Chittoor, Nellore, Kollam and Mallapuram.
The investigating team asked the washroom maintenance lady and other district court staff members to recognize the suspect based on their memory at ACP’s office in Lakshmipuram. After ascertaining his identity, the information on places the suspect visited by travelling in the bus during his stay in the city were gathered.
It may be recalled that a light intensity blast occurred in the district court premises on August 1 sending shock waves across the cultural city.
