Mysuru: The pillars at Mysuru Railway station building, which is a heritage structure were painted with tribal arts to beautify the ambiance under the theme ‘Shramdan’ Lets colour and beautify Mysuru Railway station campaign on Saturday and Sunday.
The campaign saw an active participation from railway personnel including A K Gupta, General Manager, South Western Railway, Atul Gupta Divisional Railway Manager, S G Yathish, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager. School children and passengers too took part in the endeavor to beautify the pillars by painting artistic pictures.
Around 250 railway staff members along with scouts, guides and school children belonging to Lalitha School participated in the campaign.
Speaking to Newskarnataka Atul Gupta, DRM, Mysuru division, SWR said “We marked the pillars before taking up the painting work. Painting in other areas including on platform 6 will be taken up in days to come. Warli painting will be tried on platform 6 while contemporary art work, including folk and abstract art work will be taken up in other places.”
AK Gupta inspects 1.7km stretch at Srirangapatna railway station:
AK Gupta along with Rajeev Kumar, Principle chief Electrical Engineer, South Western Railway inspected the newly commissioned 1.7 km stretch at Srirangapatna and also inspected the Railway Electrification work between Yeliyur to Mysuru ( 39kms).
