Mangaluru: Mrs Prajitha Biju, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Yenepoya Pharmacy College & Research Centre, has been awarded a PhD in Pharmacy by Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) during its 15th Convocation ceremony held on 15 November 2025 at Deralakatte.

Research focuses on innovative dermal fungal infection treatment

Her doctoral research, titled “Carbamide and Luliconazole Niosomal Gel as a Treatment Modality for Dermal Fungal Infections,” explored advanced drug-delivery approaches aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes in dermatological care.

Mrs Prajitha completed her research under the guidance of Dr Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed, Principal of Yenepoya Pharmacy College, and Dr Manjunath Shenoy, Professor and Head of Dermatology, Yenepoya Medical College & Hospital. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to both guides for their consistent mentorship and direction.

Academic contributions and gratitude

With extensive teaching experience in pharmaceutics and related fields, Prajitha has maintained a strong passion for research. She has several publications to her credit and holds a few patents in her area of expertise.

She attributed the success of her PhD journey to the blessings of God and the unwavering support of her parents, family, friends, faculty colleagues, and the university management.
