Bengaluru: Congress leaders across the country staged a silent protest regarding the court’s rejection of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification petition.
Alleging that the BJP is doing revenge politics, the Congress is holding a silent protest at the Freedom Park in Bengaluru today. The leaders of the Congress , ministers, Priyanka Kharge, Satish Jarakiholi, Sharan Basappa, Santhosh Lad, MLAs Puttarangshetty, AR Krishnamurthy, Tukaram, Mahantesh, UB Bankar, Basavaraj Daddal, Bhim Sen and many others participated in the protest by wearing black bands around their mouths. AICC General Secretary Surjewala has arrived for the protest. The silent protest is going on under the leadership of AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge.
DK Shivakumar appealed to the party workers to participate in large numbers, Rahul Gandhi has never threatened the prestige of the country. There is a conspiracy to end his political career on the pretext of his speech in Karnataka. “We condemn this. A message needs to be sent to the opposition and across the country to stand with Rahul Gandhi who stands for truth and country,” he said.
