Mother and Boyfriend Arrested in Ramnagara for Alleged Murders of Two Children
In a shocking incident, the police in Karnataka’s Ramnagara district have arrested 25-year-old Sweety and her boyfriend Gregory Francis, 30, for the alleged murder of Sweety’s two children, Kabila (2) and Kabilan (11 months).
According to police reports, Sweety and Francis began their affair two months ago after meeting at a park on Bengaluru’s Tannery Road. Sweety, who was married to Shivakumar, a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) worker, had two children with him.
On September 27, the couple rented a house in Ijooru. Kabila was allegedly murdered on October 1, followed by Kabilan on October 7. Reports indicate that Sweety beat her children, leading to their asphyxiation.
To avoid suspicion, the couple cremated Kabila, claiming he had died of illness. However, during Kabilan’s cremation, the short time span between the two deaths raised alarms. The cremator filmed the second cremation and alerted the police.
Subsequent investigations led to tips about the children’s deaths, prompting the police to arrest Sweety and Francis. Upon questioning, both suspects reportedly confessed to the murders, indicating that their motive was to continue their affair without the burden of children.
