In a surprising turn of events, D K Shivakumar, the Congress party chief, has extended an invitation to BJP MP D V Sadananda Gowda from Bengaluru North to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The offer comes following the BJP’s decision to sideline Gowda and allocate the Bengaluru North ticket to Shobha Karandlaje. This move prompted Karandlaje to seek support from Gowda himself, evident from her recent visit to his residence in Bengaluru.
According to reliable sources, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief D K Shivakumar has presented Gowda with the opportunity to contest from four constituencies, each holding significant relevance to Gowda’s political career.
Among the four constituencies offered, one is Bengaluru North, Gowda’s current constituency, while another is his former constituency.
As D V Sadananda Gowda commemorates his birthday on March 18, he has convened a meeting at his residence with close aides, where he is expected to announce his decision by the evening.
Political analyst Gururaj Anjan disclosed that Puttur Congress MLA Ashok Kumar Rai is facilitating discussions between D V Sadananda Gowda and D K Shivakumar.
