On India’s 78th Independence Day, an attempt to hoist a Palestinian flag at the Government College ground in Kunigal, Karnataka, created tension. The ceremony, organized by the Kunigal taluk administration and attended by Kunigal MLA Dr. Ranganath and other local officials, was disrupted when five or six individuals tried to raise the flag behind the stage.
Their actions were quickly challenged by another group of youths, leading the initial group to flee. The incident was promptly managed by local authorities, and the flag hoisting ceremony resumed without further issues.
Despite the brief disruption, the Independence Day celebrations continued across India with enthusiasm. People engaged in exchanging greetings, singing the national anthem, and participating in various patriotic activities, including tree planting.
