Burglars persisted in their crime spree across Udupi, targeting government workers’ residences for the second consecutive day. Three homes of MESCOM employees in the Kunjibettu staff quarters were broken into.

The thieves, gaining access through broken locks, raided homes that were locked. One of the incidents took place at the Hare Rama Residential Complex, where another MESCOM worker’s home was also looted.

In a separate occurrence, a junior engineer from Konkan Railway was also victimized. The stolen items, which included three watches and a silver coin, were valued at approximately Rs 15,000.

To aid in the investigation, a dog squad and fingerprint experts have been called in. A formal case has been filed at the Udupi town police station to pursue further inquiries.
