Udupi: In a significant breakthrough, Byndoor police have arrested two individuals on charges related to cattle theft and illegal transportation.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Kaip, a resident of Sasthan, and Mohammad Suhel Khader, hailing from Uchhila Kapu. Their arrest follows a series of cattle theft incidents reported in recent weeks across the Byndoor region.

Concerned by the growing number of such cases, Byndoor police had formed three dedicated investigation teams to track down the culprits. During a targeted operation, the police managed to apprehend the two suspects and later presented them before the court.

As part of the raid, three vehicles used in the illegal transportation of cattle were seized. In addition, four cattle found inside one of the vehicles were rescued and safely handed over to a nearby goshala (cow shelter).

Authorities believe the accused were part of a larger network involved in stealing cattle and transporting them unlawfully, possibly for slaughter or illegal trade.

Byndoor police have assured continued vigilance and stricter patrolling in rural and border areas to prevent further such incidents. They have also urged locals to report suspicious activities or unknown vehicles near cattle sheds and farmlands.

The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests may follow as police continue to crack down on organized cattle theft in the district.
