A tragic accident occurred on Sunday when 54-year-old Manjunath, a cyclist, succumbed to injuries after being hit by a scooter. Police reported that the incident took place when Abdul Mushab, riding his scooter with pillion rider Faiz, approached from Kandluru towards Kundapur in a reckless manner. The scooter struck Manjunath, causing him to fall onto the road, where he sustained severe head injuries. Both the scooter rider and the pillion rider only sustained minor injuries.
Manjunath was rushed to Kundapur Government Hospital for treatment, and later referred to the District Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for further care. However, during the journey to Mangaluru, he developed breathing difficulties and was brought back to Kundapur Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon examination.
A case has been registered at the Kundapur Traffic Police Station, and further investigations are underway.
