Udupi: In a shocking incident, hotel businessman Santhosh Shetty (46), a resident of Oyilhole Kumerumane in Karkala taluk, was brutally murdered by a hotel employee in Pune, Maharashtra, on Tuesday night.
Fatal attack over workplace dispute
According to sources, the incident occurred around 10 pm at Weyer Hotel where Shetty was present. An employee from Uttar Pradesh, allegedly enraged after being reprimanded for drinking alcohol during work hours, attacked Shetty with a sword from behind, fatally injuring his neck.
Eyewitnesses reported chaos at the hotel following the attack, with a large crowd gathering at the scene in shock.
Body to be brought home
The body of the deceased is being transported to his hometown Yennehole in Karkala taluk for final rites. Local police in Pune have taken up the investigation, and further details are awaited regarding the accused and possible accomplices.
