Byndoor: In a significant breakthrough, Byndoor police successfully apprehended a man accused of murdering his own mother in the Manjeshwara police station jurisdiction of Kasaragod district, Kerala.

The accused, Melvin (38), a resident of Manjeshwara, had allegedly committed the heinous crime and then gone into hiding. Acting on a tip-off received from the Kerala police, the Byndoor police team tracked Melvin to a rural area in Kalodu Byathiyani, which falls under the Byndoor police station limits in Karnataka.

Melvin was arrested without resistance and subsequently handed over to officials from Manjeshwara police station, who will take over further legal proceedings.

The coordinated operation saw the involvement of Byndoor PSI Timmesh B.N., Kollur PSI Vinay K, and dedicated officers including Nagendra, Parayya Mathapati, Malappa Desai, and Chidananda, all of whom played crucial roles in the successful execution of the arrest.

Authorities confirmed that the arrest was the result of inter-state cooperation and swift response based on actionable intelligence shared between the Karnataka and Kerala police departments.

The case, involving matricide, had shocked the local community in Kerala and its developments were being closely followed by both state law enforcement agencies. The arrest marks a critical step toward justice for the victim.
