In a gruesome and disturbing incident near Bengaluru, a 26-year-old man named Shankar was arrested late Friday night after police found him riding a scooter with behead wife’s severed head placed on the footboard. The shocking discovery was made around 11:30 PM near Chandapura-Anekal Road in Heelalige village, Anekal taluk, when patrolling officers stopped him due to visible bloodstains on his clothes.
According to reports, the victim, Manasa (26), was Shankar’s wife and the mother of their three-year-old daughter. The couple, who lived in Heelalige and both worked at private firms—he in Koramangala and she in Bommasandra—had been experiencing marital issues. Shankar allegedly suspected Manasa of infidelity, which led to frequent arguments. She had even moved to a PG accommodation recently but had returned home in hopes of reconciliation for their child’s sake.
On Friday, following a heated altercation, Shankar reportedly attacked Manasa with an axe, beheaded her, and fled with the severed head. He was arrested shortly after and taken into custody. A formal case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.
