Residents of Palli, Kanajar, Ranganapalke, Eliyaal, and Ninjur near Bailoor in the taluk are grappling with the fear of a roaming leopard, leading to sleepless nights and heightened anxiety.
The leopard, which has been seen during the day in Palli Marutinagar, has attacked domestic dogs and livestock, fueling concerns among the locals. The animal’s presence has made it unsafe for children to venture outdoors, with areas like Palli, Maruti Nagara, and Mangaldi Mata becoming hotspots of worry.
Many villagers have expressed frustration over the lack of action from forest officials, accusing them of neglecting their duty to capture the leopard. The residents have appealed for immediate intervention, urging authorities to set up traps and take swift action to resolve the issue before it escalates further.
