Udupi: In the wake of heavy rains and strong winds that caused house collapses and tree falls in parts of Udupi, MLA Yash Pal Suvarna visited the affected villages of Kenjur and Waramballi within the Udupi Assembly constituency on Friday.

The MLA personally inspected damaged houses belonging to Gopal Naik and Damodar Naik in Kenjur, and Girija and Yashoda in Kiniyarabettu, Waramballi. The houses were severely damaged due to trees crashing down during the storm.

Yash Pal Suvarna inquired about the health of the injured and provided immediate financial assistance from his personal funds. He also directed the Tahsildar and Revenue Department officials to assess the damage and ensure maximum compensation is granted under natural disaster relief provisions.

Local leaders and representatives, including Waramballi GP President Nithyananda, Rajesh Shetty Birthi (President, Brahmavar Agriculture Service Co-operative Society), and others such as Niranjan Shetty, Nishan Rai, Adarsh Shetty Kenjuru, and Lakshmi Narayan Mallya, were present during the visit.

The MLA assured continued support and emphasized swift administrative response to minimize hardship for affected families.
