MLA Yashpal Suvarna recently submitted a memorandum to Minister for Municipal Administration and Haj, Rahim Khan, addressing several important issues concerning the Udupi City Municipality (CMC). During the meeting, Suvarna highlighted the vacant post of the full-time commissioner for Udupi CMC, which has been unfilled for several months, causing significant disruptions to administrative functions and daily public services.
The MLA urged the minister to prioritize the appointment of a full-time commissioner to ensure the smooth functioning of the municipality. Additionally, Suvarna called for the expedited approval of the proposal to utilize the available water supply fund for general civil works, as well as the allocation of funds for constructing a new municipal office building. He also requested special departmental grants for the development of basic infrastructure in Udupi city.
Minister Rahim Khan responded positively to the memorandum and assured the MLA that appropriate actions would be taken soon to address the requests related to the commissioner’s appointment and grant allocations.
