Udupi: Udupi–Chikkamagaluru MP Kota Srinivas Poojary announced that long-pending development work at the busy Parkala Junction will commence on Monday, September 15.
The MP inspected both the Parkala Junction site and the ongoing Indrali railway bridge works on Friday. He directed engineers to ensure smooth traffic management during construction to minimise inconvenience to commuters.
Traffic safety during construction
Poojary emphasised that widening the gradient and making alternative arrangements for vehicular movement was essential to avoid accidents in the heavily used junction area. “Traffic regulation is key during the construction period to ensure safety and avoid chaos,” he said.
He also instructed officials to expedite the work and complete the project within a week, assuring that the road would be made fully operational immediately after completion.
Indrali railway bridge to open soon
During his visit, the MP also reviewed the Indrali railway bridge construction. He confirmed that work on the bridge is progressing rapidly and will be completed without delays.
“The Indrali Bridge will be opened for traffic on September 22, giving commuters much-needed relief,” Poojary announced.
